The Frontier Mission Model
The Frontier Mission Model is the Diocese’s approach to counties where distance, geography, and population spread make a traditional church plant impossible. Instead of waiting for a building, this model sends trained leaders into rural towns, small communities, and isolated pockets to establish micro‑assemblies — small, relational gatherings that function as fully Apostolic expressions of church.
The Micro-assemblies
These micro‑assemblies meet in homes, community spaces, or wherever people can gather. They are supported by mission hubs: strategic locations that provide training, resources, and a place for the county to come together. Every believer in a frontier county enters a digital formation pathway, ensuring consistent doctrine, unified discipleship, and leadership development even when weekly travel is not possible.

The Frontier Mission Model is flexible, mobile, and scalable. It allows the Diocese to reach communities that would otherwise remain untouched, creating a network of assemblies connected through digital infrastructure, county reporting, and the leadership of a Mission Overseer. This overseer trains leaders, builds new assemblies, and keeps the county aligned with the Diocese’s mission.
Counties
In counties like Jefferson, Skamania, and Klickitat, this model transforms rural territory into active mission fields. It replaces isolation with connection, scarcity with growth, and distance with discipleship. The Frontier Mission Model ensures that every community — no matter how small, remote, or spread out — can experience Apostolic ministry, formation, and expansion.
